Cuervo Tequila Games in PB?February 25, 2010 1 Comment
The Pacific Beach Special Events Committee called a special meeting on March 3 at 6pm (see link and click here for a post related to this meeting). The one item on the agenda? Cuervo Games. Turns out Cuervo Tequila is hosting an X-games type event in cities all over the US, starting in Orlando in March. Apparently the event is intended to come to Pacific Beach?
This is the type of event our bar and liquor licenses thrive on. More evidence of the alcohol-culture that is dogging our community. We invite you to attend this special meeting, hear event details and voice any of your concerns.
Alternatively, contact your local community group that has representatives on this committee and encourage them to voice their concerns about this potential event – and vote no! Here’s some videos from the Cuervo Tequila-sponsored Winter Games held between February 4th through the 6th, 2010. Do we want this kind of atmosphere anywhere in Pacific Beach – even if only for a day? Does this help or hurt our community’s reputation?Tags: cuervo, culture, games, PBSECAlcohol Culture in PB, Commentary, Special Events
